I am currently watching Daybreakers.
Warning: May Contain Spoilers.
I realize that the warning is probably not needed for most people who want to see the movie probably has already, but just in case, you have been warned.
I enjoy this movie as it places an interesting twist to the Vampire Story we are used to.
Here nearly all of Humanity has been wiped out by the Vampires. They overtook the world and now they are the ones in control.
The kicker? The morons took out nearly every human and now they are starving to death. Any humans that do remain alive are hunted down and they farmed for blood.
Vampires that don’t eat devolve into batlike monsters, which is hastened by the fact they are feeding on fellow Vampires.
Ethan Hawke is a Vampire Hematologist trying to find a blood substitute and save the starving masses. His journey shows an agonizing tale of emotions and controversy.
He doesn’t like the way things are and wants to change things and help people.
I don’t want to spoil the entire film for those who haven’t seen it, but let’s just say another huge twist changes things drastically and changes the course of his journey in a surprising direction.
I like the ending to the movie. It concludes the journey of Ethan’s character in a satisfying way. It also allows his hopes to be realized and the change he wanted a reality.
You should have this on your list of Top Vampire Films and if you haven’t seen it yet, well why the hell not?
